The Zenonian theory of the transition to socialism

As is well known and repeated by all global pundits, the goal of SYRIZA and the Greek non-communist left in general is the democratic transition to socialism.

But as the distance to socialism is too large to cross at once, there emerges the intermediate goal of a "government of the left."

But that goal is also too large to attain at once, so the "radical left" must needs first assimilate the entire ideological and organizational body of PASOK. Because PASOK has experience in "left-wing government."

But this intermediate goal of the intermediate goal is also too demanding, hence the "radical left" is compelled to form alliances with all other bourgeois parties' personnel; for it needs their prestige and experience, as well as the consensus of their supporters.

But this intermediate goal of the intermediate goal of the intermediate goal is also daunting, so the "radical left" must posit as a new intermediate goal its alliance with other parties in government, so as to secure the "continuance of the state", "democracy" and "stability."

But to attain this intermediate goal of the intermediate goal of the intermediate goal of the intermediate goal, it is important to appear as not too different from the previous government, and hence to act and decide similarly to that; otherwise, how will capital trust you enough to peacefully let you govern?

But this means that we have not traversed a single step further than PASOK already had gone 40 years ago. So soon, another party will need to repeat what SYRIZA has already repeated to ensure that we remain entirely motionless, while of course speaking of "thresholds" and "crossroads" for the next 187,847,987 years, and while, too, excoriating the communists' "socialism of the Second Coming."

Because socialism is like risotto; if you hurry too much and do not stir it very slowly, it will get singed and instead of risotto you will have the Gulag. On the other hand, what kind of socialist would you be if you did not cry "I want risotto and I want it now"? The combination of petty-bourgeois impatience and inertia is an art, it is no joke.

And that's the Zenonian theory of the transition to socialism.
