Message of solidarity by the World Peace Council to the people of Venezuela [En, Es]
In the latest escalation of events aggravated by the US imperialist interferences, we again vehemently express, in the name of the World Peace Council, our repudiation of the aggressions against the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, and of the coup attempts by imperialism, allied to the Venezuelan oligarchy and the extreme-right.
US President Barack Obama’s announcement of sanctions against seven Venezuelan officials, alleging that the South-American country represents an “unusual threat” to the US national security, is another demonstration of the imperialist effrontery and aggressiveness. Its coup enterprises are intensifying all over the world, but Venezuela is at the epicenter of these efforts of regime change against a Government that does not surrender to the imperialist dictates.
In a recent solidarity mission to the people of Venezuela, the World Peace Council could assess the current context and assert that, in accordance to what Venezuelan authorities have been affirming, a great share of the chaos spectacle is not real. The conservative media run by the Venezuelan oligarchy have allied themselves to imperialism, promoting the media-terrorism, while the groups in the extreme-right perform a conflict to destabilize a peaceful society, which ratified the revolutionary and Bolivarian course in at least 19 electoral processes.
We enthusiastically salute President Nicolás Maduro’s speeches on March 9 and 10. After verifying ad hoc that the Venezuelan people is united against the coup, to defend their important social victories, we repeat President Maduro’s words: “This is Simon Bolívar’s land, this land is sacred and cannot ever be touched by foreign and imperialist boots, and we must assure it with our own lives if necessary.”
The moment is one of serious threat to the Venezuelan national sovereignty and to the Bolivarian Revolution’s achievements. Our solidarity to Venezuela, its people and its Government is indeclinable. A solidarity extended to all Latin America and the Caribbean, manifesting against the imperialist interference, and the internal and external aggressions against Venezuela and its democratic process.
We decidedly support the Venezuelan authorities’ reiterated calls for a national, political and sovereign dialogue, in defense of the social achievements, the way forward and the solution for an internal conflict, free from the imperialist interference, always heedful for opportunities for its pillage and domination agenda.
Likewise, President Maduro’s call is evidently important for a national debate based on Venezuela’s history, since, as the rest of Latin America, the country has always been surrendered by the elites in power to the imperialist dictates. The achievement of sovereignty, especially through the popular appropriation of the oil, has to be emphasized, so people can understand what is at stake.
In the name of the World Peace Council, we reiterate our complete solidarity to the Venezuelan people and to the Bolivarian process of national liberation, sovereignty, dignity and the anti-imperialist defense. We further support the call for unity not only in Venezuela, but also among all peoples, in Latin America and the world, mindful of the devastating effects of the imperialist interferences.
Long live the Venezuelan people and the Bolivarian Revolution!

Plena solidaridad a Venezuela y su pueblo!
Frente la última escalada en eventos agravados por las injerencias del imperialismo estadounidense, expresamos vehementemente, una vez más, en el nombre del Consejo Mundial de la Paz, nuestro repudio en contra de las agresiones a la República Bolivariana de Venezuela, y de los intentos de golpe del imperio, aliado a la oligarquía y la extrema-derecha venezolanas.
El anuncio del Presidente de EE.UU. Barack Obama sobre las sanciones contra autoridades venezolanas, alegando que el país Sudamericano representa una “amenaza inusual” a la seguridad nacional de los Estados Unidos, es otra demostración de la desfachatez y la agresividad del imperialismo. Los intentos de golpe están intensificados por todo el mundo, pero Venezuela está en el epicentro de estos esfuerzos de cambio de régimen contra un Gobierno que no se rinde a los dictados del imperialismo.
En reciente misión de solidaridad al pueblo de Venezuela, el Consejo Mundial de la Paz pudo verificar el contexto actual y afirmar que, como afirman reiteradamente las autoridades venezolanas, una grande parte del espectáculo del caos no es real. Los medios conservadores de comunicación de la oligarquía venezolana se han aliaron al imperialismo para promover el terrorismo, mientras los grupos de extrema-derecha representan un conflicto para desestabilizar una sociedad pacífica, que ratificó el camino revolucionario bolivariano en al menos 19 procesos electorales.
Saludamos entusiásticamente los discursos del Presidente Nicolás Maduro en 9 y 10 de marzo. Tras verificar in loco que el pueblo venezolano está unido en contra del golpe y para defender sus importantes logros sociales, repetimos las palabras del Presidente Maduro: Esta es la tierra de Simón Bolívar, esta tierra es sagrada y no puede ser tocada jamás por las botas foráneas e imperialistas, necesitamos garantizarlo aunque sea con nuestras vidas si necesario.
El momento es de seria amenaza a la soberanía nacional venezolana y a las victorias de la Revolución Bolivariana. Nuestra solidaridad con Venezuela, su pueblo y su Gobierno es indeclinable. Una solidaridad extendida a toda América Latina y Caribe, manifestándose en contra de las injerencias imperialistas y las agresiones internas y externas contra Venezuela y su proceso democrático.
Apoyamos decididamente los llamamientos reiterados de las autoridades venezolanas por un dialogo nacional político y soberano, en defensa de los logros sociales, por el camino a delante y la solución de un conflicto interno, libre de la injerencia imperialista, siempre esperando oportunidades para su agenda de saqueo y dominación.
De la misma manera, el llamado de Presidente Maduro evidencia la importancia de un debate nacional basado en la historia de Venezuela, que, como el resto de América Latina, siempre estuvo entregue por las élites en el poder a los mandos imperialistas. El logro de la soberanía, especialmente a través de la apropiación popular del petróleo, debe ser enfatizado para que el pueblo entienda lo que está en juego.
En nombre del Consejo Mundial de la Paz, reiteramos nuestra complete solidaridad con el pueblo venezolano y el proceso bolivariano de liberación nacional, soberanía, dignidad y defensa anti-imperialista. Apoyamos aún el llamamiento por unidad no apenas en Venezuela, pero también entre todos los pueblos, en América Latina y el mundo, que entiendan los efectos de la injerencia imperialista.
Viva al pueblo venezolano y la Revolución Bolivariana!
